Parts and Upgrade Kits

Add new features or keep your feeder working like new for many years

A treadle chicken feeder is of no use unless it is kept in repair.  Some parts are consumable such as springs and wire links and others will not normally be needed but they will be here if needed.  Other parts are upgrade kits to retrofit your older feeder to the waterproof version or the soft close version.  To purchase visit our shopping cart at this link    Upgrade Kits and Repair Parts

Springs

Springs pre load the door so that wild birds, rats, squirrels, or mice can’t just push the door open.  These are wear items but if you have to replace them very often you need to adjust a spring after you install it by carefully stretching it using two pairs of pliers to keep the closing force just right.   $8.35 for a pack of three springs with most of the cost being the USPS mailing cost  Click here to order

Counterweight

This counterweight balances the weight of the treadle step and treadle bar and provides some mass that needs moved before the door will open.  Which is what makes this a bird proof chicken feeder.  Concrete counterweight for either feeder $3.00 plus shipping but the shipping is high even with USPS. Our advice if you need a new counterweight is to convert your old feeder to a dual spring/no countwer weight model   Click here to order
